Simi features Ebenezer Obey in Aimasiko video

Award-winning singer, Simi, is gradually writing her name in the sands of time as she keeps waxing stronger even more than those who were there before her in the music industry.

The X3M music act has scored another feather by releasing a video of her song Aimasiko, featuring legend, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey.

The video, also starring Simi’s band, The Banjos, wraps up the visuals to tracks off her album, Simisola.

Shot and directed by Ani James of Aje Filmworks, Aimasiko highlights daily struggles in life as people search for solutions to their different problems while praying for God’s intervention.

President Muhammadu Buhari will sign the 2018 Appropriation Act into law on Wednesday. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, confirmed this to our correspondent on the telephone on Monday. “I can confirm to you that the President will sign the budget into law at midday on Wednesday,” the presidential spokesman said. Our correspondent further learnt that the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council that normally holds every Wednesday will not hold on that day. The meeting usually holds inside the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja at 11am on Wednesdays. Command arrests labourer for defiling five-year-old girl

A labourer, Achibong Koko, has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl. It was gathered that detectives arrested the suspect on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at his residence on Dansa Street, Abule-Oshun. During a press briefing on Wednesday, the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, said a medical test that was conducted on the victim showed her hymen was broken. He said, “Information was received by the Divisional Police Officer, Onireke division, that a five-year-old girl had been defiled. A team of detectives was mobilised to the area, where the suspect, Achibong Koko, was arrested. “According to the mother of the victim, the daughter left her room while she was asleep. She added that the girl was  violated while she slept. However, she noticed that the daughter was not walking properly, so she questioned her. ‘Herdsmen killed 230 Tiv farmers’

About 230 Tiv farmers have been reportedly killed by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in Doma, Keana, Awe, Obi and Lafia local government areas of Nasarawa State. The interim President of Mdzough Tiv, a social-cultural organisation, Nasarawa State chapter, Mr Thomas Gaar, revealed this on Thursday at a press briefing in Lafia, the state capital. He said, “Our farms and farm produce are devastated and currently in shambles. Our farms have become death traps as they are tagged ‘No go areas.’ The armed Fulani herders hunt the Tiv man on hourly basis even more than wild animals,” he claimed. The Mdzough Tiv leader stated that the destabilization of the Tiv communities had negatively affected the social and political status of the Tiv in the state.
